Learn how to search, preview, and license Adobe Stock assets in Adobe InDesign using Creative Cloud Libraries.

Use Adobe Stock images in InDesign through Creative Cloud (CC) Libraries to search, preview, and license assets directly in the application. Stock assets can be placed as watermarked previews before licensing. This workflow helps manage royalty-free images, vectors, and illustrations within document layouts.

Search and add Stock images to your library

Select File > Search Adobe Stock.

Enter search terms in the Adobe Stock portal that opens in your default browser.

Hover over an image to reveal license and preview options.

Select the Download Preview icon to download the watermarked version to a CC Library or select Buy to purchase and download immediately.

Drag the asset from the CC Libraries panel onto your InDesign page or into an existing frame.

Note

Watermarked previews are added to the Graphics category in your selected CC Libraries. The watermark remains visible in your InDesign document and any exported files until you license the image.

Find visually similar images

Select a placed graphic, then select Edit > Find Similar Images.

Review matching results in the CC Libraries panel (Window > CC Libraries).

License a watermarked image

Select Window > CC Libraries.

Right-click the watermarked image, then select License image.

Confirm the licensing action when prompted, based on your available stock credits or subscription.

Select OK.
