Learn how to import styles from another document into Adobe InDesign to maintain consistent formatting.

Import table and cell styles in InDesign to reuse formatting and maintain consistency across documents. Styles from another document can be applied to the current project, including dependent elements like paragraph styles and swatches. If a style name already exists, it can be replaced or renamed.

Select Window > Styles > Cell Styles or Table Styles.

Select the panel menu  icon, then select Load Cell Styles, Load Table Styles, or Load Table and Cell Styles.

Choose the InDesign document and double-click it to import the styles.

In the Load Styles dialog box, select the styles to import.

If a style name conflict occurs, select Use Incoming Style Definition to replace the style, or select Auto-Rename to keep both styles.

Select OK.
