Feature updates

• This is a stability fix release.

Fixed issues

• [macOS only] In CPU mode, the selection of objects isn't registered immediately; the cursor has to be moved outside the object's bounds to show the selection.
• Text using the World-Ready Composer does not render OpenType Superscript, Subscript, or Numerator/Denominator features correctly.
• InDesign becomes unresponsive once the plugins are disabled.
• [GPU on Windows] Animated zoom isn't working as expected.
• InDesign intermittently crashes while deleting a page/spread.
• [macOS only] InDesign intermittently crashes in the progress bar while opening the document.
• [macOS only] InDesign crashes when dragging a file from Finder onto its Dock icon with the List Options dialog open.
• [Windows only] InDesign crashes intermittently while closing the pop-up window. 
• InDesign Server MMC snap-in crashes when creating instance configurations after installation.

Feature updates

• Unlock faster performance with GPU support on Windows for smoother rendering and full-quality image display.
• Align and distribute objects to the bleed area for precise edge-to-edge layouts in print-ready designs.
• Added a lowercase icon in the Properties and Control panel to quickly convert text without using menus.
• Added support for IPP passthrough printing on Windows 11 24H2 using secure Class Drivers, replacing legacy PostScript/PCL.

System updates

• For optimum GPU Performance, your Windows must have:
  • A minimum of 1024 MB of VRAM (2 GB recommended). 
  • Monitors with a resolution greater than 2K.
  • Open GL version should be 4.4 and above.
• Added support for ARM M4 on macOS.

Fixed issues 20.4.1

• [macOS only] InDesign throws I/O Error when executing ExternalObject("lib:PlugPlugExternalObject").
• [macOS only] ExtendScript Folder.execute() and File.execute() do not work.
• GIFs and media files over 10MB don't display correctly in published output.

• Page navigation using Text Anchor and Page Destination hyperlinks does not work in EPUB Interactive Preview or exported EPUB (Fixed Layout).
• InDesign 20.3 adds the “target=_blank” attribute to all links exported through EPUB.

• Fixed incorrect cursor movement in RTL text when Harfbuzz shaper is used.

• The Eyedropper Tool has been moved to the top, above the Color Theme Tool.
• Dark Mode is now supported on macOS.

• InDesign no longer hangs during ePUB Reflowable export in a few documents.
