Issue
Although you are using the correct serial number and installer to activate your full version of InDesign Server, you only get a watermarked Developer Edition which is unusable for production.
Environment
- InDesign Server
- Mac
- Windows
Cause
If licensing information is not correctly communicated and stored, it can sometimes lead to this behavior.
Resolution
Close InDesign Server and rename SLCache in the following directory
- Mac OS - System Library/Application Support/Adobe
- Windows - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Then try to activate InDesign Server again using the Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition (APTEE).
The command takes the format of:
adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=V7{}InDesignServer-<version number>-<OS>-GM --serial=<serialNumber> --adobeid=<email>
for example:
adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=V7{}InDesignServer-13-Win-GM --serial=<serialNumber> --adobeid=<email>
You can find more information and the exact command to use on the corresponding InDesign Server Release Notes page.
