Rearrange document windows

When working with multiple files in Photoshop, managing your document windows efficiently can significantly improve your workflow. You can organize windows as tabs, float them freely, or create custom layouts to fit your needs.

Open multiple documents in Photoshop to begin organizing them.

Drag a window tab to a new location in the group to rearrange the order.

Drag the window’s tab out of the group to undock the document window.

Drag the window into the group to dock it with other document windows.

Drag the window onto another document to create stacked or tiled groups of documents.

Drag your selection over the document’s tab to switch to another document in the tabbed group.

Tip

You can also select Window > Arrange > Float in Window to float a single document window, or Window > Arrange > Float All In Windows to float all document windows at once.
