Last updated on Oct 27, 2025

Learn how to use the Red Eye tool in Adobe Photoshop.

Red eye is caused by flash reflections from the retina, commonly in low-light settings. To prevent red eye during photography, use your camera’s red eye reduction feature or a flash away from the lens.

Select the Red Eye tool.

In the Options bar, adjust these settings as needed:

  • Pupil Size: Controls the size of the area to be corrected.
  • Darken Amount: Controls how dark the corrected pupil appears.

Select the red or white reflection in the pupil to apply the correction.
