Resize images

Learn how to resize images in Adobe Photoshop by adjusting their dimensions for screen, web, or print.

Resizing changes the image dimensions for different output needs. Screen and web images typically use 72-96 PPI, while print images require 300 PPI for best quality.

Select Image > Image Size from the menu bar.

In the Image Size dialog box, enter new values for Width and Height and choose your preferred unit from the dropdown next to each field.

Adjust dimensions and resolution, and resample them in the Image Size dialog box.

Note

To maintain the aspect ratio, select the Constrain aspect ratio icon in the Image Size dialog box.

Set the Resolution value appropriate for your output.

Select Resample to interpolate the pixel information.

Select OK to resize.
