Improve hair selections with the Refine Hair tool

Learn how to make cleaner, more accurate hair selections using the hair refinement feature in the Select and Mask workspace.
Select Select and Mask > Refine Hair.
Adjust the following settings in the Properties panel:
- Transparency: Fine-tune the visibility of your selection over the image.
- Preset: Apply commonly used refine settings.
- Refine Mode: Switch between Color Aware and Object Aware for better edge detection.
- Edge Detection: Set parameters to help Photoshop better identify fine hair edges.
- Global Refinement: Adjust values for Smooth, Feather, Contrast, and Shift Edge for precise control.
- Output Settings: Define how and where the final selection is applied or exported.
Select OK to apply the refined selection.
