Learn how to restore default and custom workspaces in Adobe Photoshop to reset your panel layout.

In Photoshop, workspaces display your last arrangement of panels, but you can also restore the original setup. You can restore both preset and custom workspaces.

Restore the default workspace

Select the Choose a workspace dropdown menu in the Application bar.

Select the Essentials workspace. Photoshop restores to the default workspace, the Essentials workspace.

Note

You can also select Window > Workspace > Reset > Essentials (Default).

Restore saved workspaces

Select the Choose a workspace dropdown menu in the Application bar.

To restore a single preset or custom workspace, choose Reset <Workspace Name>.

To restore all Photoshop preset workspaces, select Edit > Preferences > Workspace (Windows) or Photoshop > Settings > Workspace (macOS). Then, select Restore Default Workspaces.

This resets all Photoshop preset workspaces, like Essentials and Photography, to their original layout.
