Learn how to apply a custom layer style and save custom settings using the Layer Style dialog.
Apply or edit a custom layer style
Double-click the layer outside the layer name or thumbnail.
Select effect options from the Layer Style dialog box.
Select OK.
Tip
Select the layer effect icon beside the layer name in the Layers panel to expand and view all the effects applied to the layer.
Save custom settings
Select an effect (like Bevel & Emboss) from the Layer Style dialog.
Adjust the sliders and values.
Select Make Default.
Note
- Your custom defaults will be automatically applied the next time this dialog is opened.
- To return to your saved custom defaults after making changes, select Reset to Default.
