Draw custom shapes using built-in options or create your own from paths and text in Adobe Photoshop.

Use custom shapes to add reusable vector graphics to your designs. You can draw shapes from the built-in library, import additional ones, or create and save your own.

Draw and edit a custom shape

Select the Custom Shape   tool from the shapes tool group in the toolbar.

Select the Shape dropdown in the Options bar.

Select a custom shape from the options that appear.

Tip

Select Import Shapes from the gear   icon beside the options to add shapes from your local files.

Drag on the canvas to draw the shape.

Save a shape or path as a custom shape

Create a path using the Pen tool or shape tools, or by converting text to a path.

Select Window > Paths and select a path in the Paths panel.

Select Edit > Define Custom Shape and enter a name for the new custom shape in the Shape Name dialog.

View the new shape in the custom shape picker in the Options bar.
