Modify guide properties such as position, orientation, and color to enhance your layout precision and workflow efficiency in Adobe Photoshop.

Editing guides allows you to customize their appearance and position without having to delete and recreate them. This is particularly useful when working on complex layouts that require precise alignment or when collaborating with others who may need visual cues with specific colors.

Edit guides when creating them

Select View > New Guide to open the New Guide dialog.

Set the Orientation to either Horizontal or Vertical and specify the Position value.

Select a preset color or select Custom, to choose a color in the Color picker (guides color), and select OK.

Select OK.

Edit existing guides

Select the Move tool.

Hold Alt + Shift (Windows) or Option + Shift (macOS) to select multiple guides.

Right-click on any selected guide and choose Edit Selected Guides.

Adjust the Orientation (Horizontal or Vertical).

Select a preset color or select Custom, to choose a color in the Color picker (guides color), and select OK.

Select OK.
