Create document from layer or group

Learn how to turn any Adobe Photoshop layer or group into a separate document for focused editing or reuse.
Select Layer > Duplicate Layer for a single layer or Layer > Duplicate Group for a group.
In the dialog box that appears, select the Document dropdown menu and select New.
Select OK to create the new document.
Note
To create a copy of just the selection on a new layer before duplicating, select Layer > New > Layer Via Copy.
