Warp and unwarp text

Last updated on Oct 27, 2025

Add warp effects to bend and distort text into creative shapes while keeping text fully editable in Adobe Photoshop.

Warping text allows you to create eye-catching typographic effects by bending and distorting text into shapes like arcs, waves, or flags. Unlike other distortion methods, warped text remains fully editable. You can change the text content, font, or color while maintaining the warp effect.

Warp text

Select the Horizontal Type tool or the Vertical Type tool.

Select the text you want to warp, and then select Type > Warp Text.

In the Warp Text dialog, select a warp style from the Style drop-down menu. Options include Arc, Arc Lower, Arc Upper, Arch, Bulge, and more.

Select the Horizontal or Vertical orientation of the warp effect.

Adjust the Bend slider to control the intensity of the warp effect. Higher values create more dramatic curves.

Use the Horizontal Distortion and Vertical Distortion sliders to apply perspective to your warp.
