Move text

Learn how to reposition text in Adobe Photoshop to fit into a new layout or highlight key areas of an image.

Select the Move tool and select a text layer in the Layers panel. A bounding box will appear around the selected text.

Select anywhere inside the bounding box and drag to the desired location.

Use the arrow keys to move the text frame precisely. Press Shift when using the arrow keys to move in larger increments.

The Photoshop layers panel has the type layer selected and an alignment grid present on the canvas. The frame has been moved 8px left and 23px down from its original position.
Drag a text frame with the Move tool to reposition it.
