Embed color profiles

Last updated on Oct 27, 2025

Save your images with embedded color profiles in Adobe Photoshop to maintain consistent colors when viewed or printed on different devices.

Color profiles ensure that your images appear with consistent colors across different devices and applications. Embedding a color profile in your Photoshop document helps maintain your creative vision when the file is opened elsewhere.

Embedding a color profile is essential for color management workflow. Without an embedded profile, other applications may interpret your image's colors differently, potentially causing unwanted color shifts. This process works with any document that has been assigned a color profile in Photoshop.

Embed a color profile when saving

Select File > Save As.

Select a supported file format that allows profile embedding like PSD, TIFF, JPEG, PDF, or PSB.

Select Embed Color Profile.

Select your desired file location and name, then select Save.

Verify if a color profile is embedded

View the document information area at the bottom of the Photoshop window.

Select the right arrow icon and select Document Profile to view the currently embedded profile.
