Set up paragraph formatting

Learn how to modify paragraph settings in Adobe Photoshop for consistent spacing and alignment in multi-column layouts.

Select the Horizontal Type tool or Vertical Type tool.

Select the type layer that contains the paragraph you want to align and justify from the Layers panel.

Note

You can align and justify only paragraph text. To manage spacing for point text, convert it to paragraph text by selecting Type > Convert to Paragraph Text.

Select Window > Paragraph to view the Paragraph panel.

Select any of the following to align your text:

  • Left align text icon
  • Center text icon
  • Right align text icon

Select any of the following to justify your text:

  • Justify last left icon
  • Justify last centered icon
  • Justify last right icon
  • Justify all icon

Select different alignment, justification, indentation, and spacing options from the Paragraph panel to customize your text.

Select the Commit icon from the Options bar (Window > Options).
