Drag a panel on to a blue zone to dock it. If there's no drop zone, the panel floats freely.

Press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (macOS) while moving a panel to prevent docking.

Press Esc while moving the panel to cancel the operation.

To make a panel float freely, drag it away from any dock or drop zone to an empty workspace area.

Tip

Select Window > Workspace > Lock Workspace to prevent accidentally moving panels while using a stylus.
