Learn how to navigate the Adobe Photoshop Home screen and quickly access your files, tools, and creative resources.

Home screen

When you launch Photoshop, the Home screen appears, which includes the following:

  • Feature highlights to keep you updated with the latest enhancements in Photoshop.
  • Tutorials to help you learn the concepts, workflows, tips, and tricks.
  • Recents section to help you access your recent cloud documents, including shared files.
  • Keyword filters to find specific cloud documents. When you’re offline, the online cloud documents are greyed out.
The Photoshop Home screen shows tabs like Home, Learn, and Files. Recent files appear in the center, and tutorials are accessible.
View personalized content on the Home screen, based on your Photoshop experience and Creative Cloud membership.

Tip

While working on a document, select Home in the Options bar to return to the Home screen. Press Esc to exit the Home screen.

The Home screen shows the following tabs and buttons:

  • New file: Create a new document using the available templates.
  • Open: Open an existing Photoshop document.
  • Home: Return to the Home screen.
  • Learn: Access tutorials for basic and advanced Photoshop skills.
  • Your files: Access all your files organized under the following categories:
  • Shared with you: View the Photoshop cloud documents shared with you.
  • Lightroom photos: View your synced Lightroom photos and import them into a Photoshop document.
  • Deleted: Find documents you’ve removed from cloud storage with options to restore or permanently delete them.
Note

To customize the number of recent files displayed, select EditPreferences > File Handling and set the desired value between 0 and 100 in the Recent File List Contains field.
