Learn how to use Content-Aware Fill in Adobe Photoshop to automatically fill empty spaces when cropping, rotating, straightening, or expanding images.

Note

To use Content-Aware Fill on Crop, ensure Use Classic Mode is turned off.

Select the Crop tool from the Tools panel.

Go to the Fill dropdown in the Options bar and select Content-Aware Fill.

Adjust the crop boundaries by dragging the corner or edge handles. You can rotate the image or expand the canvas beyond the original image size.

Press Enter (Windows) or Return (macOS).
