Learn how to edit existing text in Adobe Photoshop to fix typos, improve clarity, or update text directly in any text layer.

Select the Horizontal Type tool or the Vertical Type tool from the Tools panel.

Select within the text to place the insertion point where you want to make changes. To select specific text, select and drag over the characters you want to modify.

Select and drag with the Horizontal or Vertical Type tool to edit point or paragraph text.

Make the necessary text changes.

Select the Commit icon from the Options bar.

Tip

Select Window > Options to view the Options bar.
