Organize layers with layer groups

Learn how to group related layers to keep your Adobe Photoshop document arranged and manageable.

You can also use layer groups to apply masks or adjust multiple layers at once, allowing non-destructive editing across several elements.

Select the layers to group in the Layers panel.

Select Layer > New > Group from Layers.

Enter a name for the group in the dialog box and select OK.

Select the arrow next to the group folder in the Layers panel to expand or collapse the group.

To add more layers to the group, drag them into the group folder in the Layers panel.

Select the group folder and choose Layer > Ungroup Layers to ungroup layers.
