Create smooth transitions and soften the edges with feathered edges in Adobe Photoshop.
Define a feathered edge for a selection tool
Enter a value in the Feather box in the Options bar to define the width of the feathered edge.
Define a feathered edge for an existing selection
Go to Select > Modify > Feather.
Enter a value for the Feather Radius.
Select OK.
If the No pixels are more than 50% selected message appears, reduce the feather radius or increase the size of the selection. To continue with the current mask, select OK even if the edges are not visible.
