Fill text with image

Learn to create striking visual effects by filling text shapes with images in Adobe Photoshop using the Convert to Frame feature.

Add text to your document using the Horizontal Type tool or Vertical Type tool from the toolbar (Window > Tools).

Add the image you want to use for filling the text.

In the Layers panel, drag your image layer under the type layer. Ensure that the image is large enough to fill the text.

Right-click the text layer in the Layers panel and select Convert to Frame. The image appears inside the text shape.

Drag the image using the Move tool to reposition the image within the text frame.
