Resize text

Learn how to adjust the size of text within a text layer or the size of the entire text layer.

Resize selected text within a text layer

Select the text you want to resize using the Horizontal Type tool or Vertical Type tool.

Select Window > Character, then select a size from Set font size. If you can’t find the size you need, type a custom number.

Select any text and set the font size from the Character panel.

Resize a text layer

Select the Move tool, then select the text layer you want to resize in the Layers panel.

Drag any anchor point to resize the bounding box and the text within.

While dragging, you can:

  • Hold Shift to resize the text non-proportionally within the text layer.
  • Hold Alt to keep the center of the text layer in place.
  • Hold Command (macOS) or Ctrl (Windows) to explore skewed angles.

Select Commit icon in the Options bar.

Tip

Select Window > Options to view the Options bar.
