Learn how to arrange layers evenly in Adobe Photoshop to streamline workflows for branding, print designs, or grid-based compositions.

Uneven spacing can make a design look cluttered and unprofessional. Distributing layers in Photoshop allows you to quickly arrange multiple objects, create visual harmony, and present clean and intentional designs. This method works best for structured workflows, like brochures, catalogs, or digital ads.

Select two or more layers (or groups of layers) from the Layers panel.

Select Layer > Distribute, and select any of the following:

  • Top Edges icon: Distributes the layers evenly based on their top edges.
  • Vertical Centers icon: Spaces the layers based on their vertical center points.
  • Bottom Edges icon: Distributes the layers evenly based on their bottom edges.
  • Left Edges icon: Distributes the layers evenly from their left edges.
  • Horizontal Centers icon: Spaces the layers based on their horizontal center points.
  • Right Edges icon: Distributes the layers evenly based on their right edges.
  • Horizontally icon: Spaces the horizontal spacing between the layers evenly.
