Learn how to calculate values in Adobe Photoshop using simple math within numeric input fields.

You can perform basic math directly in the input fields that accept numeric values, such as width, height, font size, or canvas dimensions. Make precise adjustments easily by using mathematical expressions during design or editing.

Select any numeric input field, such as Width or Height.

Type a math expression in the field, such as 30+45, 300/2, 12*4, or 3 cm * 50%.

Math expression examples

Replace a value: Type 100/4. The result is 25.

Adjust a value: Type +50 after or 50+ before 200. The result is 250.
