Rotate or flip images

Learn how to rotate or flip images, layers, or selections in Adobe Photoshop using Transform commands for precise orientation control.

You can rotate or flip specific parts of your image, such as a layer or selection, without affecting the entire document.

Select Edit > Transform.

Select one of the following options:

  • Rotate 180°: Turns the image upside down.
  • Rotate 90° Clockwise: Rotates the image 90 degrees to the right.
  • Rotate 90° Counter Clockwise: Rotates the image 90 degrees to the left.
  • Flip Horizontal: Mirrors the image from left to right.
  • Flip Vertical: Flips the image upside down along the vertical axis.
