Define planes to adjust perspective

Last updated on Oct 27, 2025

Learn how to define planes to adjust perspective in architectural and object images in Adobe Photoshop.

Determining planes in Adobe Photoshop helps prepare an image for perspective correction. This step is especially useful for fixing distortion in architecture or aligning objects from different angles.

Note

Photoshop requires at least 512 MB of video RAM (VRAM) to run the Perspective Warp feature on 16-bit and 32-bit documents. If your GPU has only 256 MB of VRAM, you can use Perspective Warp only on 8-bit documents. The NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 isn't supported.

Select the image you want to adjust.

Select Edit > Perspective Warp, review the onscreen tip, and close it to continue.

Draw quads along the architectural planes or flat surfaces of your image.

Keep the edges of the quads parallel to the straight lines in the architecture for accurate results.
