Apply or cancel Content-Aware fill changes

Learn how to apply, cancel, or reset changes made to your image with Content-Aware Fill in Adobe Photoshop.

Select the object to remove. You can use the Object Selection tool, the Quick Selection tool, or the Magic Wand tool to select your subject.

Select Content-Aware Fill by right-clicking within the selection. This opens the Content-Aware Fill workspace.

Select Apply in the Content-Aware Fill panel to commit a fill and keep the workspace open.

Select the Lasso tool or the Polygonal Lasso tool in the toolbar to make a new selection for another fill.

Select OK in the Content-Aware Fill panel to commit the fill and close the workspace.

Note

You can also press Enter (Windows) or Return (macOS).

Select Cancel in the Content-Aware Fill panel to cancel the fill and close the workspace.

Note

You can also press Esc.

Select the Reset at the bottom of the Content-Aware Fill panel to reset all fill settings.
