Learn how to trim a photo in Adobe Photoshop to remove unwanted areas and improve composition.

You'll get a sample file to follow along with as you learn how to crop photos.

Select the Crop tool from the toolbar to display adjustable crop borders around your image.

Drag the corner or edge handles to resize the crop area.

Drag across the image to draw a new crop box and frame the desired portion of the image.

Press Enter (Windows), Return (macOS), or select Done.

Tip

To adjust your crop, hover outside a corner to rotate the crop box, then drag when the curved arrow appears. To move the crop box, drag it from inside.
