Manipulate the planes to adjust perspective

Last updated on Oct 27, 2025

Learn how to adjust image perspective by manipulating defined planes using the Perspective Warp in Adobe Photoshop.

After defining planes using the Perspective Warp in Photoshop, you can manipulate them to correct image distortion. Move plane edges, straighten lines, or use automatic adjustments to refine perspective and achieve a natural result.

Select Warp mode after defining the planes to begin adjusting the perspective.

Drag the corners of the quads to reshape the planes and adjust the image’s perspective as needed.

Tip

To achieve finer control over the same architecture, you can define different sets of planes. For example, one set might loosely cover the structure, while another provides more precise alignment for individual surfaces.

To straighten an edge, Shift-click it. The edge will highlight in yellow and remain straight during adjustments.

In Warp mode, select one of the following icons to apply automatic adjustments:

  • Automatically level near-horizontal lines.
  • Automatically straighten near vertical lines.
  • Auto warp to horizontal and vertical.

Select the Commit Perspective Warp icon to apply the perspective adjustments.

Note

To turn off straightening on an edge, Shift-click the edge again.
