Select specific frames in your animation sequence for precise editing and manipulation in Adobe Photoshop.

When working with frame animations in Photoshop, you need to select specific frames before you can edit their content. The currently selected frame appears in the document window, allowing you to make changes to its layers. Frame selection is essential for editing animation content, adjusting timing, or applying effects to specific parts of your animation.

In the Timeline panel, select the frame thumbnail you want to select.

The selected frame appears with a shaded highlight, and its content displays in the document window. Make your desired edits to the layers for this frame using the Layers panel.

Tip

Hold Shift to select multiple consecutive frames and Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (macOS) and select additional frames you want to include.

After selecting frames, you can edit their content by adjusting layer properties in the Layers panel, including visibility, position, opacity, and blending modes. You can also set timing options or delete, duplicate, and reorder selected frames using the Timeline panel controls.
