Fix issues with saving cloud documents

Last updated on Oct 20, 2026

Learn how to resolve errors that prevent you from saving Adobe Illustrator cloud documents.

If Illustrator can't save your cloud document, you may see one of these error messages:

  • Something went wrong
  • Cloud document is not available
  • Your version of CoreSync is incompatible with this version of Illustrator
  • The document content is not available

Try the following solutions in order until you can save your cloud document successfully:

Check your network connection

A stable internet connection is required to save cloud documents.

Verify that your computer is connected to the internet.

If you're using a wireless network, try switching to a more reliable connection.

After confirming that your connection is stable, try saving the cloud document again.

Update the Creative Cloud desktop app

Using the latest version of the Creative Cloud desktop app helps ensure cloud documents are synced correctly.

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Check for available updates.

Install any available updates.

Restart your computer if prompted.

Open Illustrator and try saving the document again.

Reset CoreSync

If updating the Creative Cloud desktop app doesn't resolve the issue, reset CoreSync.

Sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Open Activity Monitor (macOS) or Task Manager (Windows) and end the Adobe Content Synchronizer and Adobe Desktop Service processes.

Locate the CoreSync folder.

Rename the folder to CoreSync-OLD.

Restart your computer.

Sign in to the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Open Illustrator and try saving the document again.

Free up system resources

Insufficient available memory or storage can prevent cloud documents from saving.

Close applications that you aren't using.

Make sure your computer meets the Illustrator system requirements.

Free up available disk space if necessary.

Permanently delete unneeded cloud documents from the Deleted folder.

Open Illustrator and try saving the document again.

Close the document in other Illustrator versions

A cloud document can only be edited in one Illustrator session at a time.

Check whether the document is open in another version of Illustrator or on another device.

Close the document everywhere else.

Return to Illustrator and try saving the document again.

If the issue persists, rename the document and save it.
