Use the layer effects icon
In the Layers panel, select the layer you want to apply an effect to.
Select the Add a layer style icon and choose an effect from the pop-up menu.
Adjust settings in the Layer Style dialog.
Select OK.
Select the arrow next to the layer style icon in the Layers panel to expand and view a layer’s effects.
Use the Layer menu
In the Layers panel, select the layer you want to apply an effect to.
Select Layer > Layer Style.
Select an effect.
Adjust the settings in the Layer Style dialog.
Select OK.
Use the Styles panel
In the Layers panel, select the layer you want to apply an effect to.
Select Window > Styles.
Select a style thumbnail to instantly apply to the selected layer.
