Submit crash reports

Last updated on Oct 4, 2026

Learn how to re-enable the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog in Photoshop and submit detailed crash reports to help Adobe diagnose and fix crashes.

When Photoshop crashes, the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog lets you send diagnostic information to Adobe. If the dialog doesn’t appear, restore it for your operating system and submit detailed crash information.

The Adobe Crash Reporter dialog is set not to appear. Restore the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog for your operating system.

macOS

Press and hold Command, then select the Photoshop app icon and select Show Package Contents.

Contents > Frameworks > AdobeCrashReporter.framework.

Press and hold Command, then select the AdobeCrashReporter alias and select Show Original.

Double-click Adobe Crash Reporter (the Red A app icon, not the black AdobeCrashReporter UNIX executable file).

Select Always Show This Dialog and select Done.

Windows

Select Start, search for Command Prompt, and launch it.

Type REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CommonFiles\CRLog /v "Never Ask" /t REG_SZ /d 0.

Press Enter.

If prompted with "Value Never Ask exists, overwrite (Yes/No)?", select Yes.

The Adobe Crash Reporter dialog now appears after Photoshop crashes.

Provide detailed crash information

When the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog appears, provide as much detail as possible:

  • Describe what you were doing when the crash occurred.
  • List the steps that reproduce the crash, if known.
  • Include the document type, tools, and plug-ins you were using.
  • Add your email address if you want a follow-up about the crash.
  • If the issue is specific to a file, include a link to a shared copy in the description.
  • Submit the report.

Understand crash report privacy

Adobe sends non-personally identifiable technical information with a crash report. If you provide your email address, Adobe uses it to contact you about the crash, a fix, or a workaround. You can submit a report anonymously.
