Create a PDF presentation

Combine multiple images into a multi-page PDF document or slideshow with customizable display settings.

PDF presentations combine multiple images from different sources into a document or slideshow.

The PDF Presentation command creates standard PDF files from your selected images. You can generate either a multi-page document suitable for distribution or a full-screen slideshow with automatic transitions. The resulting PDF is viewable in any PDF reader and can be shared without requiring Photoshop.

Before creating your presentation, gather the images you want to include and choose the output format. Multi-page documents work well for printable portfolios, while slideshow mode is ideal for on-screen presentations.

  • Source images saved in a Photoshop-compatible format
  • Sufficient disk space for the output PDF file
  • Photoshop CS6 or later (PDF Presentation plug-in is 64-bit compatible)

Add and organize your source files.

Select File > Automate > PDF Presentation.

In the PDF Presentation dialog box, select Browse to navigate to the images you want to include, or select Add Open Files to use files currently open in Photoshop.

Drag files up or down in the source files list to reorder them in your presentation sequence.

To include the same image multiple times, select the file in the list and select Duplicate.

Preview the order in the source files list. Files appear in the PDF in the listed sequence.

Configure output and presentation settings

Under Output Options, select Multi-Page Document to create a standard PDF with one image per page, or select Presentation to create a full-screen slideshow.

If you selected Presentation, configure the slideshow behavior by selecting options for Advance Every (the transition interval in seconds), Loop After Last Page (to repeat automatically), and Transition (the visual effect between slides).

Select Save to open the Save dialog box.

Choose a location for your PDF file, enter a filename, and select Save to generate the presentation.

Your PDF presentation is now ready for distribution or viewing. Multi-page documents open in standard reading mode, while presentations launch in full-screen slideshow mode when opened in most PDF readers.

PDF presentations created with this command are generic, optimized for viewing and sharing. If you need to preserve Photoshop editing capabilities, use Save as Photoshop PDF for individual files instead.
