Download error or file not found

Cause

The "Download Error" or "File Not Found" appears when you open a non-cached cloud document from the Recent section of the Home screen or from File > Open Recent.

Remedy

  1. Go to Home screen > Files > Your files or Shared with you.
  2. Select the cloud document to begin downloading it.

Network error

Cause

networkError appears when your computer isn't connected to a network or the connection is intermittent.

Remedy

Check Home screen > Files > Your files or Shared with you for an offline banner or a cloud icon with an X.

If Photoshop appears to be online but the error persists, follow the steps to resolve connection issues.

No Internet connection

Cause

noInternetConnection appears when your computer isn't connected to the network or the connection is intermittent.

Editing a cloud document while the device is offline

Cause

operatingOnOnlineOnlyAssetWhileDeviceIsOffline appears when you try to edit an online-only cloud document while your device is offline.

Remedy

Syncing failed

Cause

syncingFailed appears when Photoshop can't synchronize changes because the Internet connection isn't working or is disconnected.

Remedy

Check your Internet connection by following the steps to resolve connection errors.

  1. Quit Photoshop.
  2. Open Activity Monitor (macOS) or Task Manager (Windows).
  3. Locate the Adobe Content Synchronizer.
  4. Stop the Adobe Content Synchronizer process.

Request timed out

Cause

requestTimedOut appears when the cloud documents system isn't connected to the Internet or the connection is intermittent.

Remedy

  1. Retry the failed operation.
  2. Follow the steps to resolve connection errors.
  3. If the connection is working, quit Photoshop and stop Adobe Content Synchronizer using Activity Monitor (macOS) or Task Manager (Windows).

Cannot perform an operation when your assets are not in sync

Cause

cannotPerformOpWhenAssetNotInSync appears when you try to perform an operation while the document is syncing changes.

Remedy

Wait for synchronization to complete, and then try the operation again.

Sync time varies based on the document size and network performance.

Full cloud storage

Cause

fullCloudStorage appears when your cloud storage is full.

  1. Go to Home screen > Deleted.
  2. Select one or more documents.
  3. Permanently delete the selected documents to free cloud storage.
Note

Deleting cloud documents from Your files or Shared with you only moves them to the Deleted folder. Permanently delete them from Deleted to free storage space.

Activation level reached

Cause

loggedInUserLimitExceeded appears when the maximum number of Creative Cloud sign-ins or activations has been reached.

Remedy

Follow the steps to resolve the "Activation limit reached" or "Sign-in failed" error.

Out of bounds

Cause

outOfBounds appears when a folder contains more items than allowed.

Remedy

Delete items or move them to another folder to access the affected folder.

Naming conflict

Cause

conflictOfSamePathOrName appears when two documents temporarily have the same name in the same folder. This can occur when one document is in the cloud and the other is locally synced.

Remedy

Wait for the cloud documents system to rename one document. After the view refreshes with the unique name, try the operation again.

User block listed

Cause

userBlockListedPleaseContactSupport appears when Adobe has suspended the account because of a terms-of-service violation.

Remedy

Contact the Adobe support community for assistance.

Generic retriable error

Cause

genericRetriableError appears when an unknown error occurs.

Remedy

  1. Retry the failed operation.
  2. If the error continues, quit and restart Photoshop.
  3. If the error still occurs, restart the computer.
