Share Photoshop work to Trello

Last updated on Oct 4, 2026

Learn how to use the Trello plugin to export document snapshots directly to boards and cards.

The Trello for Photoshop plugin streamlines collaboration by sending your work directly to Trello without switching applications.

This procedure connects your Photoshop workspace to Trello and exports your active document as an image attachment. The plugin captures a snapshot of your entire document, including all visible layers. Use this workflow when you need to share design progress with team members, gather feedback on visual work, or add design assets to project management boards.

  • Active Trello account with workspace access
  • Trello for Photoshop plugin installed
  • Document ready to share with appropriate layers visible

Before exporting, arrange your document layers to show exactly what you want to share. The plugin captures the entire visible canvas as a single snapshot.

Sign in to Trello

In Photoshop, open the Trello plugin panel.

Select the blue Sign In button.

In your browser, review the permissions request and select Allow to grant Photoshop access to your Trello account.

Return to Photoshop to continue working.

Once authenticated, the plugin remains connected for future exports until you sign out or revoke access.

Export your document to Trello

In the Trello for Photoshop panel, select Get Started to begin the export process.

In the Format dropdown, choose JPG, PNG, or GIF as your export file type.

In the Size dropdown, select 1x (100%) or 2x (200%) for your image export dimensions.

In the Compose section, select whether to share to Trello boards, existing cards, or create a new card.

In the Comment field, type an optional message to include with your image.

Select Post to send your image to Trello.

Tip

If you need to adjust which layers appear in the exported snapshot, select Cancel before posting, hide or show the appropriate layers in your document, then select Get Started again to capture a new snapshot with your changes.

The exported image appears in your selected Trello destination with your optional comment attached. Team members with access to that board or card can view the image immediately.
