Install textures for the Texturizer filter

Last updated on Oct 6, 2026

Download and copy texture files to your Presets folder to expand creative options in the Filter Gallery.

Adobe provides additional texture presets that extend the built-in options in the Texturizer filter, giving you more creative surfaces to apply to your images.

This procedure installs texture files into your Presets folder, making them available in the Texturizer filter's texture menu. These textures work with Photoshop's Filter Gallery and provide surfaces like canvas, burlap, and sandstone for creative effects.

  • Administrator access to copy files to the Presets folder
  • Internet connection to download the texture package
  • Quit Photoshop completely before installing textures to ensure they load properly.

Download and install texture presets

Download the texture package from Adobe.

Double-click the downloaded file to extract the contents. If prompted, select to extract all files.

Navigate to the Photoshop Presets folder:

  • macOS: Applications/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Presets/
  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [version]\Presets

Copy the extracted Textures folder into the Presets folder.

Launch Photoshop to make the new textures available.

After installation, access your new textures by selecting Filter > Filter Gallery. In the Filter Gallery dialog, expand the Texture folder, select Texturizer, and choose from the newly installed presets in the Texture menu.
