Resolve text that randomly changes or is corrupted

Perform the following steps in order.

Important:

  • This issue can affect files created or modified using Photoshop.
  • Once a file exhibits this problem, re-create it from scratch, starting with a new document.
  • Copy and paste raster layer content from the affected file into the new document.
  • Don't copy, paste, or drag existing Type or Vector Shape layers into the new document. Create these layers from scratch.
  1. Update to the latest version of Photoshop.
  2. Before you open Photoshop, reset Photoshop preferences.
  3. Delete the Photoshop font cache:
  • macOS: Quit Photoshop, navigate to Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version], delete the FontFeatureCache folder, and empty the Trash.
  • Windows: Exit Photoshop, navigate to Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version], delete the FontFeatureCache folder, and empty the Recycle Bin.
