Unable to import Lr photos

Last updated on Oct 4, 2026

Learn how to resolve import failures in Adobe Photoshop on desktop by reinstalling the CCXProcess component.

In the Lightroom photos tab on Photoshop’s home screen, when you select a Lightroom photo and select Import Selected, the photo is not imported, and a cross icon appears before its filename.

The CCXProcess component that manages communication between Creative Cloud applications is missing, outdated, or corrupted on your system.

Quit Photoshop and download the CCXProcess installer for your operating system:

Double-click the downloaded file to extract its contents.

Launch the installer for your operating system:

  • Windows: Double-click Setup.exe from the extracted folder.
  • macOS: Double-click Install.app from the extracted folder.

Wait for the installation to complete. Verify that the installation is complete before relaunching Photoshop and trying to import your photo again.

After successful installation, a checkmark icon appears before the filename when photos import correctly.
