Troubleshoot issues with the Adobe Photoshop system information

Last updated on Oct 4, 2026

Learn how to access Adobe Photoshop system information and interpret key fields to identify hardware, memory, graphics, and plug-in issues.

When Photoshop crashes or shows feature or performance issues, system information can provide clues about your hardware, memory, graphics, and plug-ins. Use these details to narrow down the cause and provide useful information to support.

After a crash, slow performance, or feature issue in Photoshop, you need system details but can't locate the system information or identify which fields matter.

Use these solutions to access system information and interpret the fields that can reveal configuration or compatibility issues:

Photoshop system information isn't accessible or copyable

In Photoshop, select Help > System Info.

In the System Info dialog, select Copy.

Open a text editor, such as TextEdit on macOS or Notepad on Microsoft Windows.

Paste the copied content to view and save the complete report.

The report is ready for analysis or sharing with support.

System information doesn't show key version and hardware details

Check these fields near the beginning of the system information:

Adobe Photoshop Version: Shows the installed Photoshop version and whether it is running in 32-bit or 64-bit mode.

Operating System: Shows the operating system version. Compare it with the current Photoshop system requirements.

Physical processor count and Logical processor count: Show the number of physical and logical processors available to Photoshop.

Built-in memory: Displays the total installed RAM. Make sure your system has sufficient memory for the work you do.

Memory available to Photoshop: Shows the amount of RAM available to Photoshop.

Use the current Photoshop system requirements to verify that your operating system and hardware are supported.

Graphics, memory, and scratch-volume details are unclear

Check these performance-related fields in the system information:

OpenGL Drawing: In system information that includes this field, indicates whether Use Graphics Processor is enabled in the Performance settings.

Video Card Vendor and Video Card Renderer: Identify the graphics processor manufacturer and model. Use the GPU compatibility guidance to check support.

Video Card Memory: Shows the available video memory or VRAM. Make sure you have sufficient VRAM for the work you do.

Memory used by Photoshop: Shows the percentage of RAM assigned to Photoshop in the Performance settings.

Scratch volume(s): Show the scratch disk location, size, and available free space.

Use the GPU compatibility guidance to check graphics support, and review scratch-volume free space when troubleshooting scratch-disk issues.

Plug-in and installation details are unclear

Check these plug-in and installation fields:

Application folder: Shows the Photoshop installation location.

Required Plug-Ins folder and Primary Plug-Ins folder: Show plug-in installation paths.

Additional Plug-ins folder: Shows a custom plug-in folder when one is configured.

Required plug-ins: Lists Adobe plug-ins and their versions.

Optional and third-party plug-ins: Lists non-Adobe plug-ins that may affect Photoshop.

Plug-ins that failed to load: Identifies plug-ins that did not load successfully.

If third-party plug-ins are listed or plug-ins fail to load, use the Photoshop plug-in troubleshooting steps. Press and hold Shift while launching Photoshop to skip optional and third-party plug-ins.

Use the system information to identify hardware, configuration, or plug-in issues. For broader troubleshooting, use the basic Photoshop troubleshooting steps.
