Install and manage Marketplace plugins

Last updated on Oct 4, 2026

Browse, install, and manage plugins in the Creative Cloud desktop app's integrated Marketplace.

The Plugin Marketplace provides access to thousands of plugins that extend Photoshop's capabilities, from productivity integrations like Slack and Trello to specialized creative tools. Access the Marketplace directly from Photoshop's Plugins menu, where you can browse curated collections, install new plugins, and manage your installed plugins—all through the Creative Cloud desktop app.

This workflow covers browsing, installing, launching, and managing plugins from the Marketplace. For traditional third-party plug-ins or optional file format plug-ins installed outside the Marketplace, see the related resources at the end of this article.

  • Creative Cloud desktop app installed
  • Active internet connection
  • Administrator access to your computer (required during plugin installation)

Browse and install plugins from the Marketplace

In Photoshop, select Plugins > Browse Plugins, or select Plugins > Plugins Panel and then select the Browse Plugins + button.

In the All plugins section of the Marketplace, use the left panel to filter by product or search for specific plugins by name.

When you find a plugin to install, select the Get button in the plugin card.

Enter your computer's administrator password when prompted to grant the Creative Cloud desktop app installation permissions.

If required, quit and relaunch Photoshop to complete the installation.

Tip

Explore the Editor's Choice and Essential Plugins collections in the Marketplace to discover hand-picked plugins curated for common workflows.

After installation, your new plugins appear in Photoshop's Plugins menu and are ready to use.

Launch installed plugins

In Photoshop, select Plugins from the menu bar.

Select the name of the plugin you want to launch from the menu.

All installed plugins from the Marketplace are accessible through the Plugins menu, giving you quick access to your extended toolset.

Manage installed plugins

Select Plugins > Manage Plugins to open the Manage Plugins panel in the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Locate the plugin you want to manage in the list of installed plugins.

Select the three dots next to the plugin name to view management options.

Select Disable to temporarily turn off the plugin, or select Uninstall to remove it completely.

Alert

Disabling or uninstalling a plugin removes any customizations you've made to that plugin's settings.

Plugin types available through the Marketplace

The Plugin Marketplace supports these plugin formats:

  • UXP plugins: Modern plugins built on Adobe's latest extensibility platform, such as Slack for Photoshop and Trello for Photoshop
  • Classic CEP Extension Panels: Previously available as Add-ons (ZXP format), also accessible through Adobe Exchange

Plugins available outside the Marketplace

Some plugin types are installed independently and aren't managed through the Plugin Marketplace:

  • Traditional third-party plug-ins from external developers
  • Optional file format plug-ins for specialized file formats

For troubleshooting issues with third-party plug-ins, see Photoshop plug-ins troubleshooting.
