Check GPU compatibility

Learn how to check your GPU compatibility manually and using the built-in tool in Adobe Photoshop.

Check GPU compatibility manually

Select Edit > Preferences > Performance (Windows) or Photoshop > Settings > Performance (macOS).

Uncheck Use Graphics Processor

Select OK and restart Photoshop.

Test if your issue is resolved without GPU acceleration.

If the problem disappears, your GPU or its driver is likely the cause.

Run the built-in Photoshop GPU compatibility check

Select Help > GPU Compatibility

Check if the Microsoft OpenCL/OpenGL Compatibility Pack is installed, if you view the message Your graphics processor is incompatible on a Windows Intel-based system.

If the compatibility pack is installed, uninstall it and restart your computer.

Launch Photoshop and check if the issue is resolved.
