Reduced or slow performance in Adobe apps on Mac OS 10.9

You may experience reduced performance in Adobe applications while completing automated tasks that do not require direct user interaction on Mac OS 10.9.x (Mavericks). For example, running scripts or actions in Adobe Photoshop can take longer than expected.

Solution: Disable App Nap

Disable App Nap, which is a feature in Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks) that reduces power consumption. It slows down applications that are hidden behind other windows.

To disable App Nap, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Adobe application file in Finder.

  2. Right-click or Command+click the application file and choose Get Info.

    Choose Get Info
  3. Select the Prevent App Nap option.

    Select Prevent App Nap
